Discovery Bottle: Corn Syrup and Marbles

corn syrup marble bottle, upcycle bottles

For this discovery bottle, you will need a tall bottle to get the most "hang time" out of the marbles.

We used an empty mouth wash container, about 8 inches high.

Place your marbles in first. Make sure no marbles are the approximate circumference of your bottle opening; they will get stuck in the bottle neck.
Fill bottle with corn syrup to the bottom of the bottle neck.
Glue on your cap with E6000 or other high power glue or a hot glue gun.

Kids relax as they watch the marbles float down.
Notice the heavier marbles do not always sink first.
